Benzylpenicillin sodium, also known as Penicillin G, is a beta-lactam antibiotic from the penicillin class with activity against a wide range of susceptible bacteria. It is used in the treatment of various infections and may also be indicated for serious conditions such as meningitis, septicaemia, anthrax, tetanus, severe Lyme disease, and for the prevention of neonatal group B streptococcal infection.
