Daptomycin is a cyclic lipopeptide antibiotic with potent bactericidal activity against a range of Gram-positive bacteria, including streptococci, coagulase-negative staphylococci, and Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and glycopeptide-intermediate S. aureus (GISA).
